How to activate accessible color schemes on interactive maps?

Learn how to activate accessible color schemes on GIDEON's interactive maps.

To ensure our data is accessible to all users, including those with color vision deficiencies (such as red-green colorblindness), all interactive maps offer an alternative, accessible color scheme optimized for both light and dark modes. 

 

Activating accessible color scheme in the Visualize module

(Applies to: Global events, Disease outbreak, Transmission risk, and Vaccination maps)

Note: The following steps apply to both light and dark modes across all maps in the Visualize module. Screenshots used in this example were taken using the light mode of the application on Global events map. 

Step 1: Click the Configure panel in the top right corner of the map, or TAB to it and press Enter or Space.

Activating accessible color scheme for embedded maps

Some maps are embedded directly within pages, such as Country-specific overviews.  To activate the accessible color scheme on these maps, click the Accessibility icon on the map, or TAB to the icon and press Enter or Space.
